Faculty Development Workshop: Writing a Meaningful Course Proposal, New or Revised - September 30

Ann Emo, chair and associate professor of theater, will offer a workshop designed to assist in the construction of meaningful student learning outcomes on Friday, September 30, from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. in Butler Library 181B. The workshop is based on her yearlong SoTL research project, "How Student Learning Outcomes Shape Attitudes in Teaching and Learning."

Participants will discuss SLOs as inspiration for the design and implementation of their courses and look at aligning content, activities, assignments, and assessments directly to SLOs. Using a course of their choice, participants will

  1. craft one or more SLOs based on this course;
  2. outline course content, assignments, and assessments and discuss how conscious connection to SLOs might benefit student understanding of expectations and course content and lead to higher student success.

A light breakfast will be provided. Please register through the Workshop Registration System.
