Thank You for Hurricane María Donations

On behalf of the 120 children and 20 families in Buffalo who were displaced by the destruction from Hurricane María in Puerto Rico, I would like to express our sincerest appreciation for the donations contributed by Buffalo State faculty, staff, and students..

The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) and Professional Staff Caucus at Buffalo State; Herman Badillo Bilingual Academy; EOP and Transnational Studies at the University at Buffalo (UB); Catholic Charities of Buffalo; and the Puerto Rico Hurricane María Relief Fund partnered to gather, classify, and distribute donations to children and their families who made Buffalo their new home. Many of those children attend Herman Badillo.

Special thanks to Buffalo State's Yanick Jenkins, EOP director, and the entire EOP staff; the Professional Staff Caucus and its president, Kelly Boos; Pam Voyer, project associate in Institutional Advancement; Josie Adamo and her team in Academic Commons; and Cynthia Conides, associate professor of history and social studies education. Thanks also to Kim Meissner, teacher at Herman Badillo, who coordinated the collection effort and distribution of the donations at the school, and Marcelina Rondon in EOP and Karen Reinard in Transnational Studies at UB.

You made a difference in the life of the victims of Hurricane María who relocated in Buffalo. Once again, thank you.
