'Our Voices: SUNY Buffalo State Oral History Project (1975-1995)' - Available Online

The Archives and Special Collections area of E. H. Butler Library is happy to announce the formal launch of the oral history project “Our Voices: SUNY Buffalo State Oral History Project (1975–1995).” This project transferred more than 115 cassette interviews from between 1975 and 1995 to a digital medium. We stitched audio spanning several tapes together, cleaned the sound, saved them in long-term archival format, and hosted them on our Digital Commons online repository with appropriate metadata for discovery.

The collection includes interviews with three former college presidents (Bulger, Fretwell, and Johnstone); faculty interviews spanning more than 20 departments, including Biology, Creative Studies, English, Performing Arts, and Sociology; and topics such as the expansion and construction of our current campus buildings and facilities, and the development of United University Professions and the New York State Art Teachers Association.

Please share these interviews with students, staff, faculty, researchers, alumni, and other interested scholars.
