Tell Students: $5,000 Scholarship Information Session - April 27

A representative of the YMA Fashion Scholarship Foundation will visit campus to discuss an opportunity to earn a $5,000 scholarship on Thursday, April 27, during Bengal Pause (12:30–1:30) in Classroom Building B118. Guest speaker Mikolaj Bauer is a fashion industry professional who has been assigned to Buffalo State to encourage students to participate and will be available to answer questions.

The YMAFSF offers more than 150 $5,000 scholarship each year to students who have a desire to work in the fashion industry. Students do not have to be fashion majors to win a scholarship. Students are required to write a case study (due October 2017) concentrating on any of four areas: supply chain management, technology and analytics, design and product development, and merchandising and marketing. Eligible students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and cannot be graduating before May 2018.

Scholarship winners are also provided with an industry mentor, special internship opportunities, networking opportunities, and a trip to New York City in January to participate in the scholarship gala dinner to mix and mingle with industry insiders such as Vera Wang, Jessica Simpson, Michael Strahan, Martha Stewart, and Alber Elbez. Please encourage your students to attend this information session.
