As part of National Hazing Prevention Week, Student Leadership and Engagement is honored to welcome TJ and Kim Burch of the Remember Nolan Project to Buffalo State on Wednesday, September 23, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Campbell Student Union Social Hall.

TJ and Kim will share the story of their son, Nolan Burch, and the impact his life and loss have had on their work to prevent hazing. Their presentation will challenge us to think more deeply about hazing culture, mental health, belonging, leadership, accountability, and what it truly means to look out for one another. The evening will also include a screening of the 35-minute documentary Breathe, Nolan, Breathe.

This is not just a program for members of fraternities and sororities. Hazing prevention and student well-being are a responsibility shared by our entire community. Students, faculty, staff, alumni, families, and community members are all encouraged to attend.

The evening will begin with a complimentary community dinner and resource fair, followed by the Remember Nolan Project presentation, opportunities for reflection, a community unity project, and a commitment ceremony centered on creating organizations and communities built on respect, dignity, accountability, and genuine belonging.

If you can attend, please pre-register for the event. Pre-registration will help us prepare for dinner and ensure we can best accommodate everyone joining us for the evening. Note there is no cost to attend, and dinner will be provided.

Come for Nolan. Come for our students. Come because creating a safer and more supportive Buffalo State takes all of us.
