Child Care Center: Playground Rehab Fundraiser

The Buffalo State College Child Care Center, located in Buckham Hall, is holding a capital campaign to raise funds for its playground rehabilitation project. The center’s playground has not been refurbished in more than a decade and is in crucial need of both cosmetic and safety upgrades.

An invaluable resource for the students and employees of Buffalo State, the Child Care Center provides high-quality care for 80 enrolled children between 6 weeks and 5 years of age. The center’s dedicated teachers—more than 75 percent of whom are Buffalo State alumni—help foster a love of learning in an educationally rich environment that supports the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of the children they serve.

The importance of play to the development of young children is well documented, and outdoor gross-motor play is especially vital. As spring (finally!) arrives in Western New York, please help the center continue to provide a safe and nurturing environment for the children of Buffalo State.

Please make your gift in any amount using the secure online form, or mail your check, payable to the Buffalo State Child Care Center, through campus mail to Buckham Hall C102.

The Buffalo State College Child Care Center is licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services and has been accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) for more than two decades. Fewer than 10 percent of all child care centers, preschools, and kindergarten programs nationally achieve NAEYC recognition, indicating that Buffalo State’s program has met nationally established standards of excellence.
