'Conversations about What, Why, and How We Do What We Do'

Please join us for a Teaching and Learning Center session, "Conversations about What, Why, and How We Do What We Do,” a celebration of the richness of academic inquiry and the essence of what each academic discipline is all about at Buffalo State College. Four discrete editions will focus on the arts, the humanities, the natural sciences, and the social sciences.

What is distinctive about each academic discipline as a mode of study? How would you describe the practice to our students, their parents, your colleagues, or random strangers? Why is it important to study our particular discipline at this moment in higher education, this moment in the world, and this moment at Buffalo State? How are the various fields within each academic discipline similar and how are they different?

We’d love to hear what you have to say. We hope you can come and join the conversation about what, why, and how we do what we do at Buffalo State. All sessions will be held in Butler Library 318. Presented by John Draeger, professor of philosophy and director of the Teaching and Learning Center. Please register for the appropriate session using one of the links below.
