Reception for Bill Wieczorek: September 4

From the Dean of the School of Natural and Social Sciences
Please join us for a reception celebrating William Wieczorek, director of the Institute for Community Health Promotion, the Center for Health and Social Research, and the Center for Development of Human Services, on the occasion of his retirement from Buffalo State on Tuesday, September 4, from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. in Cleveland Hall 205.

Dr. Wieczorek founded the Center for Health and Social Research (CHSR) at Buffalo State in 1997. CHSR is a leader in researching critical issues such as drunk driving, suicide, violence, mental health, substance abuse, and educational reforms. Over $10 million in support from federal, state, and private agencies has been awarded to the center since its inception. In 2014, the Center for Development of Human Services and CHSR were combined to form the Institute for Community Health Promotion (ICHP), with Dr. Wieczorek serving as director. ICHP’s mission focuses on the health and well-being of individuals—as well as larger communities—through the development and implementation of research and programming. The institute also seeks to strengthen the influence of Buffalo State as a driver of health promotion.

Please stop by to thank Dr. Wieczorek for the outstanding work he has done at Buffalo State and to wish him well in the future.
