Call for Marchers, Volunteers: First-Year Convocation - August 23

Online registration for marchers and volunteers participating in First-Year Convocation is now open. Buffalo State’s annual First-Year Convocation for fall 2019 will be held on Friday, August 23, at 9:00 a.m. in the Sports Arena as part of Orientation 102. This event gives our newest students an opportunity to be officially introduced and welcomed to the campus community and from that moment on embrace Buffalo State College as their alma mater.

This event requires the enthusiastic participation of our campus community to succeed. All departments and offices are encouraged to allow their staff members to support this event as a work assignment for that morning by marching in convocation or volunteering to assist with the event. Faculty, librarians, and professional staff members are urged to process in regalia to demonstrate Buffalo State's commitment to incoming students and welcome the Class of 2023. Please register online by Friday, August 16, if you are available to march or volunteer for the event.

Volunteers must wear their Orientation T-shirts. Your assistance on this day is greatly needed and deeply appreciated.

Note regarding regalia: A limited number and variety of gowns are available for loan through the Academic Affairs Office. Please provide your own hood and cap, either rented or owned, if possible.

Thank you for your dedicated service on this special day!
