Introduction to Collaborative Online International Learning and Faculty-Led Study-Abroad Programming: April 22

Please join the International Education Office to learn about Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) and faculty-led study-abroad programming while enjoying a cocktail on Friday, April 22, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Campus House. Below is an overview of what will be covered.

Introduction to COIL: 3:00–3:30 p.m.
COIL connects students and faculty in different countries for collaborative projects and discussions as part of their coursework. Explore the possibilities when you bring COIL into your teaching and research. COIL collaborations between students and professors provide meaningful and significant opportunities for global experiences built into programs of study. COIL enhances intercultural student interaction through online engagement while providing universities with a cost-effective way to ensure that their students are globally engaged.

Buffalo State College is a member of the SUNY COIL center. As a member, we can offer a multitude of professional development opportunities and a network of potential partners.

Introduction to Faculty-Led Programming: 3:30–4:00 p.m.
Interested in taking students abroad or considering a course that culminates in an in-country experience for you and your students? Faculty members will learn about resources available to assist them with the study-abroad proposal process and how to navigate the website. We’ll cover SUNY and Buffalo State travel policies and procedures.

Join us and connect with like-minded colleagues. The world is reopening, and our students are interested in getting out there and making their mark on it. Refreshments will be provided. Please register through the Workshop Registration System.
