Arjun Pathak, Assistant Professor, Physics

Arjun Pathak, assistant professor of physics, was invited to serve on the organizing committee for the 67th Annual Conference on Magnetism and Magnetic Materials (MMM), which was held from October 31 to November 4 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Dr. Pathak also chaired one of the conference’s scientific sessions and delivered two oral talks: one on his recently patented magnetic refrigeration materials and another on magnetic topological quantum materials funded by the National Science Foundation. Noah Kramer, 2022 Buffalo State undergraduate summer research fellow and EURO awardee, also presented his summer work at the conference. Mr. Kramer, an electrical engineering technology major with a minor in physics, has been working with Dr. Pathak since spring 2022. His travel to Minneapolis was partially supported by the Undergraduate Research Office. The MMM conference is one of the largest international conferences for scientists working in magnetic materials.
