Arjun Pathak, assistant professor of physics, published the peer-reviewed scientific article “Effect of Metal-Oxide Phase on the Magnetic and Magnetocaloric Properties of La0.7Ca0.3MnO3-MO (MO=CuO, CoO, and NiO) Composite” in the Journal of Magnetochemistry 8 (12). The article, coauthored by Jacob Casey, a physics major at Buffalo State, and other collaborators reports the comprehensive magnetic properties of metal-oxide nanoparticles for low-temperature refrigeration applications. Mr. Casey is a Buffalo State 2021 undergraduate summer research fellow who has been working with Dr. Pathak since spring 2021. The reported magnetic properties studies of materials were carried out at Buffalo State. This research was supported by the National Science Foundation and the Buffalo State Undergraduate Research Office.
