Please join us for the professional development workshop "Improving Communication Effectiveness with Customers, Colleagues, and Students," presented by Lori E. Miller, president of Developing Professionals, on Tuesday, October 1, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. in Chase Hall 109.

The DISC instrument helps individuals better understand themselves and others in a specific work environment improve communication and effectiveness. Each participant will receive a personalized assessment that will reveal that person’s natural tendencies and behaviors when it comes to dealing with others and situations in his or her current work environment. The tool will provide information that will enable individuals to capitalize on their strengths and increase appreciation of different communication styles. Participants will learn how to adapt their communication styles, how to minimize potential conflict with others, and how to enhance relationships with fellow co-workers, colleagues, and customers to get better results.

The DISC instrument will help participants better understand themselves and others; participants will also learn

  • about their behavioral communication style,
  • how to communicate more effectively with others,
  • how to understand human behavioral tendencies to achieve better outcomes, and
  • how to accept themselves and others to create healthier relationships.

Please register through the Workshop Registration System. Light snacks will be provided. Participants will be required to take the free DISC assessment to participate in this workshop. Once they have registered, they will receive instructions on how to complete the assessment.
