The Civic and Community Engagement Office wants to recognize and thank the tremendous number of faculty and staff members who have incorporated service-learning and community-engagement efforts in their courses this semester. Fifty-two faculty members are engaging 1,447 students in community-based learning experiences this semester alone through 74 courses (38 of which have been approved as meeting the College Senate's criteria for service-learning and are so designated in Banner). This is a remarkable 26 percent increase in courses that engage students in meeting community-identified needs in collaboration with community partners since fall 2016.
