Social Justice Learning Institute: Feedback Needed

As announced in the April 1 Daily Bulletin, Buffalo State College is committed to establishing a Social Justice Learning Institute in fall 2021. Please join members of the Social Justice Subcommittee of the President's Council on Equity and Campus Diversity to discuss their initial recommendations for the proposed Social Justice Learning Institute at one of two open campus forums on Monday, April 19, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. or Tuesday, April 20, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

The first draft recommendations will be released in advance of the meetings for review and consideration. Student, staff, faculty, and community partner input is an essential part of the recommendation drafting process to ensure the SJI’s purpose, programs, and initiatives meet campus and community priorities. We aim to also ensure that the work conducted is community centered and community driven, and we look forward to your honest and thoughtful input.

Please register through the Workshop Registration System to receive an MS Teams link and have the initial draft recommendations sent directly to you. Attendance is not required for the entire session; feel free to drop in to provide input at any point during the scheduled sessions. If you cannot attend during those times, please provide written feedback before Wednesday, April 21

The subcommittee will use input to revise recommendations and offer a second draft in May, with an additional opportunity to provide feedback at that time.
