Tell Students: $5,000-$35,000 Scholarship Opportunity - April 24

Colin Turek, director of development and advancement for the YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund, will visit Buffalo State to discuss opportunities to earn $5,000 scholarships on Tuesday, April 24, during Bengal Pause (12:30–1:30 p.m.) in Classroom Building B108. Mr. Turek is a fashion industry professional who has been assigned to Buffalo State to encourage students to participate and will be available to answer questions.

The YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund offers over 200 $5,000 scholarship each year to students who have a desire to work in the fashion industry. Students do not have to be fashion majors to win a scholarship. Students are required to write a case study (due October 2018) and may concentrate on one of four areas: supply-chain management, technology and analytics, design and product development, and merchandising and marketing. Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and must not be graduating before May 2019 to participate.

Scholarship winners are also provided with an industry mentor, special internship opportunities, networking opportunities, and a trip to New York City in January to participate in the scholarship gala dinner to mix and mingle with industry insiders such as Vera Wang, Jessica Simpson, Michael Strahan, Martha Stewart, and Elber Albez!
