Tell Students: Alternative Break Week Activities - April 9-13

The Civic and Community Engagement Office's Alternative Break Student Leadership Team will host a variety of events on campus next week, April 9–13. Alternative Break Week is designed to provide students with the opportunity to get connected to student leaders, learn more about the program, and provide opportunities for Buffalo State students to serve the community.

Grant Street Cleanup
Monday, April 9 | 11:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m.
Learn about the West Side as you assist with spring cleanup efforts. You’ll be led by student leaders and provided with snacks, gloves, garbage bags, and other cleanup necessities. Meet the team in South Wing 137 at 11:00 a.m. or noon for an hour and a half of service.

Motivation Booklets for Buffalo Public Schools Students
Tuesday, April 10 | 12:15–1:30 p.m. | South Wing 137
Decorate and provide inspiration for motivation booklets for elementary and middle school students. Markers, stickers, and paper will be provided. Bring meaningful quotes or your own pieces of advice to pass on to the younger generation. Snacks provided.

On-Campus Service Projects
Wednesday, April 11 | 5:00–7:00 p.m. | Ketchum Hall 219
Lend a hand in creating homemade laundry soap and reusable grocery bags to benefit our community partners, None Like You/We Care and the Matt Urban Hope Center. Stop in for 15 minutes or the full two hours to contribute to these service projects. Snacks provided.

De-stress with Alternative Break
Thursday, April 12 | 12:15–1:30 p.m. | South Wing 137
Take some time for yourself and de-stress. Relax with some tea, color, and learn a few yoga techniques that you can do at your desk to stretch out and refresh your mind when you’re working on assignments. Stop by for 10 minutes or the full Bengal Pause. Snacks provided.
