Tell Students: Frederick and Marilyn Howe Community Engagement Scholarship Open

The Frederick and Marilyn Howe Community Engagement Scholarship provides up to a four-year scholarship to a student from Western New York who has done significant volunteer work to address community and social issues and who will commit to continuing to volunteer as a college student. 

Incoming freshmen and students who will have sophomore status in fall 2022 and who will be enrolled full time at Buffalo State may be eligible to apply for the Frederick and Marilyn Howe Community Engagement Scholarship.

Full eligibility requirements include the following:

  • Freshman or sophomore status in fall 2022
  • Enrolled full time at Buffalo State
  • Resident graduate of a Western New York high school
  • Grade point average (GPA) of 85 percent in high school and 2.5 in college
  • Community service or leadership experience
  • Completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Please encourage students to submit their application in the Campus Application Portal for Scholarships (CAPS) for the Frederick and Marilyn Howe Community Engagement Scholarship. Applications are due Monday, June 13.
