Please be reminded that a student cannot drop a class after the drop/add deadline.

A student can only DROP a course in Banner through the first week of class. Specifically, through the end of registration, which ends at 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, in Banner.

If a student wants to DROP a class after Sept. 8, it is NOT a DROP but a WITHDRAWAL FROM COURSE. When a student DROPS a class they have no financial liability, but after the first week of class, Withdrawals carry the possibility of financial penalties: Student Accounts Tuition and Fees page.

DROPS can be completed easily online with Banner; withdrawal from a course is also done online in Banner.

DROPS do not show on the student's official academic record. Withdrawals are recorded as a "W" next to the class, although they have no effect on the student's average.

It is always recommended that a student completes all registrations, including DROPS and adds prior to the first day of class, August 31. If they need to make changes during the first week, please remind them to complete their DROPS as soon as they can as a courtesy to the faculty and other students who may want or need that seat.

NON-ATTENDANCE AT CLASS DOES NOT CONSTITUTE AN OFFICIAL WITHDRAWAL.
September 8, 2026, is the last day to drop Fall 2026 classes or withdraw without financial penalty.
