Brightspace Basics workshops will be held on Monday, August 17, and Thursday, August 20, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. in Caudell Hall 223. Results from the Instructional Design and Distance Learning Service Assessment indicated the need for on-campus training for Brightspace prior to the start of the semester. Thank you to those who completed the survey. 

 This workshop will address the following:  

• System and course access 

• Navbar menu levels 

• Notification email settings via SUNY 

• Understanding your roster 

• Making a course visible for students 

• Creating/uploading different content types 

• Contacting the SUNY Online Support Services Help Desk vs. Buffalo State IT Help Desk 

Registration for workshops is in the Workshop Registration System. Before attending the workshop, instructors should log into Brightspace using your Buffalo State username and password. If you are experiencing login issues, please submit a ticket via the IT Portal. 

Additional Brightspace support, such as  Faculty resource guides (Login Required) and recorded training sessions created by the SUNY Center of Professional Development (CPD) and SUNY Online Services are available to support learning more about Brightspace. Instructors can also find resources in the IT Portal, request individual sessions from Instructional Design and Distance Learning, submit a ticket to  SUNY Online Support Services or call 1-844-OPENSUNY (844-673-6786).
