Tonight: New York Times Best-Selling Author Nic Stone

The campus and surrounding communities are cordially invited to "An Evening with Nic Stone" today, October 11, at 7:00 p.m. in the Burchfield Penney Art Center's Tower Auditorium. Nic Stone is a critically acclaimed author of young adult fiction whose work celebrates and uplifts diverse voices. Her debut novel, Dear Martin, was a No. 1 New York Times bestseller loosely based on a series of true events involving the shooting deaths of unarmed African American teenagers. Its powerful sequel, Dear Justyce, was chosen as an NPR Best Book of the Year. Ms. Stone is also the author of Odd One Out, Jackpot, Clean Getaway, and the Shuri novel series with Marvel Comics. She is an Atlanta native and graduate of Spelman college.

Ms. Stone will speak on the power of stories, engage in dialogue with the audience, and sign copies of her books following her presentation. The Barnes & Noble at Buffalo State Bookstore will be on hand with copies of Nic Stone’s books for sale. Following tonight's presentation, Nic Stone will open Buffalo State’s 14th annual Anne Frank Project social justice festival, AFP 2022:  Healing through Stories, tomorrow, October 12, at 10:00 a.m. in the Campbell Student Union Social Hall. Both of Nic Stone’s presentations are made possible by the Donn Youngstrom Featured Presenter Series.

Due to Nic Stone’s popularity, registration for both events is advised to guarantee seating.
