Top Five Things to Know About...the Child Care Center

Top five things to know about the Child Care Center:

  1. Our mission is to provide high-quality child care for students, faculty, and staff of Buffalo State as well as members of the community.
  2. The Buffalo State Child Care Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and is one of only eight early programs in Western New York with that distinction.
  3. Over 75 percent of the teachers currently employed at the center are Buffalo State alumni.
  4. The Child Care Center currently works in partnership with several agencies throughout the community, including Bornhava, the Child Care Resource Network, SUNY Erie, and the United Way.
  5. The center regularly collaborates with the departments of Exceptional Education; Elementary Education, Literacy, and Educational Leadership; Health, Nutrition, and Dietetics; Music; and Speech-Language Pathology as well as the Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic on campus.

The “Top Five Things to Know About…” series is sponsored by the Teaching and Learning Center. If you’d like to contribute to the series, please e-mail John Draeger, TLC director.
