UUP Individual Development Awards

The State of New York/United University Professions Joint Labor-Management Committees have announced the allocation of funds for Individual Development Awards. Funds have been allocated to our campus in two separate amounts for professional development activities in two discrete periods:

April 1, 2017, through July 1, 2018 (Retroactive Period)
$15,962.99 has been allocated to fund projects and activities that commenced on or after April 1, 2017, and were completed by July 1, 2018.
Applications for awards for the retroactive period must be submitted by March 8, 2019.
Notification of awards will be made by March 22, 2019.

July 2, 2018, through July 1, 2019
$35,131.46 has been allocated to fund projects and activities that commenced on or after July 2, 2018, and will be completed by July 1, 2019.
Once the review process is complete and awards are made for the retroactive period April 1, 2017, to July 1, 2018, any unexpended funds may be reallocated for funding projects and activities for the period July 2, 2018, to July 1, 2019.
Applications for awards for this period must be submitted by April 3, 2019.
Notification of awards will be made by April 20, 2019.

This program is intended to assist employees in the UUP bargaining unit in developing their full professional potential and in preparing for advancement by funding professional development activities. The maximum award for each period is $1,000. Applications are encouraged from those who have not been funded previously.

Information on eligibility requirements, types of projects or activities funded, types of support available, funding priorities, and the application procedures and application forms are available on the Human Resource Management website. The maximum award is $1,000; employees may submit only one application each for each of the two periods.

Individual Development Awards committee members are Deborah Jones and Lisa Marie Anselmi representing UUP, and Kevin Miller and Susan Earshen representing management. Please call Human Resource Management at 878-3042 with questions.
