Tell Students: 'Beyond the Bachelor's Degree' Student Professional Development Conference - October 19

The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) will host its seventh biannual Student Professional Development Conference, "Beyond the Bachelor’s Degree," on Thursday, October 19, from 2:30 to 7:00 p.m. in the Campbell Student Union Social Hall. This one-day symposium will offer a variety of workshops and is open to all students who are interested in pursuing a career or graduate school.

Buffalo State alumna Vicki T. Sapp, '94, '97, director of student engagement, diversity, and inclusion for student affairs at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, will deliver the keynote address. Dr. Sapp earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and master’s degree in student personnel administration from Buffalo State and her Ph.D. in higher educational leadership and policy from the University of Rochester.

The conference will educate students about resources available to better prepare them for the graduate school process and funding. The newly developed "4 plus 1" programs (departments offering combined bachelor's and master's program in five years) will also be featured. Learn about preparation for graduate school entrance exams, medical school, and job and career opportunities.

This is a great opportunity for all students. Attendees will receive a professional portfolio, a buffet dinner, and a chance to win door prizes. Space is limited. To register, please complete and submit the online form before Tuesday, October 17.

The Career Development Center will host its Graduate School Fair from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the same day in the same place. Students are highly encouraged to attend this event as well.

The Student Professional Development Conference is sponsored by the Career Development Center, the Educational Opportunity Program, the Faculty-Student Association, and the Graduate School.
