Daily Bulletin Editorial Policy
Submissions for the Daily Bulletin should generally adhere to these guidelines:
Events should (1) take place on campus; (2) be sponsored by Buffalo State or largely involve Buffalo State faculty members, staff members, or student groups; and (3) support the Buffalo State mission, strategic plan, or official work of the university.
The Daily Bulletin is not used to promote events taking place in the general community or the outside interests or organizations with which individual faculty or staff members are affiliated, regardless of their merit. Readers are encouraged to spread the word about such events or organizations in other ways.
Events taking place in the general community in which individual faculty or staff members are involved as guest speakers, panelists, moderators, award recipients, or other participants may be submitted to the faculty-staff Achievements section, either before or after the event. Faculty and staff achievements appear every Wednesday when the Daily Bulletin is published.
The following items are not appropriate for inclusion in the Daily Bulletin:
- Commercial announcements, such as rental property, private-business offerings, or sale of items to third parties.
- Personal messages or news, such as thank-you notes, or birth or marriage announcements
- News or information about events taking place in the community (live or virtual), on other campuses, or at outside organizations or agencies unless Buffalo State is a direct partner or sponsor.
- Messages or material that is of questionable taste or has the potential to be divisive.
Buffalo State reserves the right to decline to publish submissions that do not meet these guidelines. All submissions are subject to editing.
The Daily Bulletin is considered an electronic resource and, as such, is further subject to Buffalo State’s Policy on the Use of Electronic Resources (PDF, 84 KB). Please contact the editor with questions about the editorial policy.
