Gerard J. Puccio, SUNY distinguished professor and chair of creativity and change leadership, announces the release of a new guidebook, Cultivate Creative Thinking for the Future of Work. Co-authored with Pamela Szalay (2008), this timely resource is published by the Association for Talent Development (ATD) and is being shared with the organization’s 30,000 members.

In today’s rapidly evolving workplace, creative thinking is widely recognized as one of the most essential twenty-first-century skills—critical not only for problem-solving but also for innovation, adaptability, and collaboration. This recognition was one of the driving reasons behind ATD’s interest in publishing this guidebook, which equips both individuals and organizations to thrive in the future of work. Packed with practical tools, strategies, and job aids, the guidebook is designed to support individuals as they develop their creative-thinking capacities, as well as learning and development professionals who want to integrate creativity training into their practice. The book provides a clear breakdown of the creative process, six actionable strategies, and guidance for integrating creativity with emerging technologies such as AI. By emphasizing creativity as a core workplace competency, Cultivate Creative Thinking for the Future of Work helps professionals prepare themselves—and their organizations—for the demands of an uncertain and opportunity-rich future.

The PDF edition is available now, with a paperback edition coming soon. To learn more, visit ATD’s product page.
