Posted:

After serving as special issues editor for Label me Latina: Journal of Twentieth & Twenty-First Centuries Latino Literary Production (labelmelatin.com) since summer 2020, Lorna Perez, associate professor of English, has moved into the co-director role with Melissa Birkhofer of Appalachian State University. Perez and Birkhofer will steer the journal, which was founded in 2011 by Michele Shaul and Kathryn Quinn Sanchez, through its next stage after Shaul's sudden passing last fall. The journal publishes a Fall and Spring edition, with themed special issues every summer (and occasionally winter). Label me Latina accepts both scholarly and creative submissions on Latina/o/e literary and cultural production, in English, Spanish, or Spanglish. The journal is indexed by the MLA International Bibliography, is listed in the MLA Directory of Periodicals, and is a member of Latinoamericana: Asociación de revistas académicas en Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales. Its articles are discoverable on EBSCOhost and Gale research databases.
