Thomas J. Reigstad, professor emeritus of English, gave the invited presentation “Mark Twain’s Haunts in Western New York” as part of the Buffalo Humanities Festival: Hauntings at the downtown Central Library on Saturday, September 21. Dr. Reigstad’s talk accompanied the two-day festival’s spotlight speaker on Friday, author Percival Everett, whose latest novel, James, is a retelling of Mark Twain’s Huckleberry Finn from the slave Jim’s point of view.
