Steven S. Sypniewski, assistant campus planner and manager of Buffalo State’s Maud Gordon Holmes Arboretum, has received the 2024 Certified Nursery and Landscape Professional of the Year award from the New York State Nursery and Landscape Association (NYSNLA). The award, which recognizes an individual’s extraordinary commitment to the green industry, his or her family and community, and the betterment of others through the Certified Nursery and Landscape Professional Program, was bestowed at the Great New York State Fair in Syracuse, New York, on August 21. The NYSNLA is a statewide professional trade association dedicated to advancing New York's nursery and landscape industries through promotion of sound business practices supported by education, relationships, and advocacy.
