Zhang Jie, SUNY Distinguished Professor of sociology and director of the Center for China Studies, and Dwight Hennessy, professor and department chair of psychology, published the article "Suicide and Non-suicide Mortality and Associated Risk Factors among Suicide Attempters: A 10-Year Follow-Up of a Large Cohort in Rural China" in the Journal of Psychiatric Research 150: 71–78. The study's coauthors were Liu Bao-Peng, Ping Qin, Jie Chu, Xin-Ting Wang, Yan-Xin Wei, and Cun-Xian Jia. Cun-Xian Jia was a visiting scholar to the Center for China Studies at Buffalo State twice, in 2005 and for the 2009–2010 academic year.
