Complete Mandatory Refresher Ethics Training by November 30, 2025

Posted:

As per the Ethics Commission Reform Act of 2022, all New York State employees are required to complete ethics training every year. If you completed the live two-hour Comprehesive Ethics Training Course (CETC) in 2024, you are eligible to take the 35-minute online On-Demand (a.k.a. "Refresher") Ethics Training in 2025. Please follow the directions below to enroll in and complete the online refresher by November 30, 2025. To receive course credit you will be asked to enter, in the designated form fields, two code words that will appear at different times during the training. After you complete the course, you will receive an attendance confirmation email from ethics@public.govdelivery.com. Human Resources will be copied on this email; there's no need to forward it to HRM.

To enroll, go to: https://public.ethics.ny.gov/SETI/OndemandEthicsTraining

  • Click blue "Start" button at the bottom of page
    • Agency: SUNY College at Buffalo
    • Employee ID: Your N number (see top left corner of your pay statement)
    • Name: Use your legal name
    • Business Email: Buffalo State email

Please note: Student employees (student assistants and federal work-study students) are no longer required to complete annual ethics training. This new exemption is not applicable to graduate assistants.

If you receive an email from coeligeducation@ethics.ny.gov asking you to complete either the live CETC or the online ethics training course, it is safe to follow the instructions in the email and enroll yourself in the required training. If you do not receive an email from COELIG, please refer to the Human Resource Management website for more details on how to enroll into the appropriate training for 2025. If you are unsure which training you need to take in 2025, please reach out to Erika Grande (grandeez@buffalostate.edu or ext. 4069) in Human Resource Management.
