The Buffalo State University community is saddened by the death of Rita Gallagher, calculations clerk 2 in the Educational Opportunity Program (retired), who died April 18, 2026. Ms. Gallagher joined the campus in 1997 and retired in 2015. She is survived by her husband Jerry D. Gallagher; children Julia (Paul) Gallagher-Lavoie and Brigid Borsuk; and grandchildren Charlotte, Beatrix, Stanley, Zoe, and Donovan. A Celebration of Life will be held May 30, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Buffalo at 695 Elmwood Avenue, Buffalo, New York. More information is available online.
