Dear SEFA Participants,

First, we would like to sincerely thank each of you for your generosity in supporting the 2025 SEFA/United Way Campaign through our ePledge system or paper forms. Your donations to the charity of your choice, listed in the SEFA booklet, make a real difference in our community. We accept cash or checks too. 

We would also like to clarify how our raffles work this year, as it can get a bit confusing. The raffles are simply an added thank you to recognize your giving spirit. Every contribution is needed as we pledge together and give as one Buffalo State community.

Raffles:

1. “During the Campaign” Raffles (October 1 – December 1)

If you increase your pledge from last year in any whole dollar amount (no cents), you’ll automatically be entered into these monthly drawings for prizes generously donated by Glenn and the SEFA Committee:

• October Raffle: Two tickets to the Bengal Kitchen (donated by Glenn Bucello). First drawing: Wednesday, October 15. Glenn has donated six pairs of lunches, so there will be two more raffle opportunities before December 1.
• November Raffle: A Josh Allen Jersey (retail value $100+, donated by Maria Garrity).
• December Raffle: A $100 Visa Gift Card (donated by Carolyn Morris-Hunt).

2. “End of the Campaign” Raffle (After December 1)

These are the Buffalo State prizes for 2025 donated by our university leadership. Virtual raffle tickets will be used for each drawing listed below (in place of those orange paper tickets in years past).  Increasing your pledge improves your chances, but you do not have to increase your pledge to be entered.

Prizes include:

1. Sunday Brunch for 10 people – Interim President
2. Reserved Parking Space – Interim VP Krieger
3. Office Pizza Party for up to 12 people – Provost & Co-Chair Wall
4. Bengal Deck Party for 10 (Fall 2026 football game) – Interim VP Brumfield
5. Two tickets to the Scholarship Gala – VP Finnerty
6. Taco Tuesday Lunch for up to 10 (Chartwells-catered) – Interim VP David Loreto
7. $100 Gift Certificate to the Barnes & Noble Bookstore – Lynn Puma
8. Lunch for 4 at Campus House – Dean Paterson & Dean Frothingham
9. Two Performing Arts Center tickets – Andrew Binder
10. Private Planetarium Program or Laser Show for up to 30 people – Kevin Williams
11. We have two raffle prizes for our hardworking ambassadors who participate as well, to be raffled at the end of the campaign.

Virtual Ticket Levels for the end of the campaign raffle drawing:

• A pledge in any amount = 1 ticket
• A pledge of at least $26 = 2 tickets
• A pledge of $52 or greater = 3 tickets
