The SUNY Academic Innovation Grants (IITG and OER Impact) return for 2026–2027, offering over $1 million in funding for projects that advance teaching, learning, and student success. This year’s focus: AI, openness, and accessibility—supporting affordable, equitable, and collaborative innovations across SUNY.
The grants follow a two-stage process:
- Ideation (November–December 2025): Share and connect on project ideas.
- Full Proposals (January–March 2026): Submit complete applications.
Now’s the time to start shaping your ideas:
- Share your idea using the Ideation Form.
- Explore others’ ideas in the Idea Sharing Gallery and connect with potential collaborators.
- Join an Idea Exchange Session to discuss and refine project concepts—Tuesday, December 2, at 1:00 p.m., with a second session date to be announced soon on the website and via email.
- Review resources and a Grant Preparation Checklist at the SUNY Academic Innovation Grants site.
Key dates for this year’s grant cycle:
- November–December 2025: Ideation open
- January 4–March 1, 2026: Proposals accepted
- March–May 2026: Proposal review
- May 2026: Awards announced
