Tell Students: The Contribution Project
This spring semester, Buffalo State is participating in the Contribution Project, a program of the Purpose Commons in collaboration with Cornell Human Ecology faculty members. The Contribution Project offers $400 awards to Buffalo State undergraduate students to “make a contribution” or to “turn their ideas to life” over six weeks in the spring semester. Students can use the funds for almost any contribution they can imagine—whether it’s helping a friend, supporting a cause, or creating something meaningful for their community (more examples). Projects cannot cause harm to others; involve weapons, drugs, alcohol, or violence; support or engage in political activities; or support research and scholarly projects for which funding is typically available through undergraduate research grant programs. Funds must be spent in the U.S. and student awardees must be eligible to be paid in the U.S.
The simple application can be submitted between February 2–22 with awards announced by March 1. More information is available through the Buffalo State Experiential Learning website or by reaching out to the Anne Frank Project or CAPE offices. Over 20 awards are expected to go to Buffalo State applicants.
