Thurman Thomas to Receive Honorary Degree at Honors Convocation: Tomorrow
Hall of Fame running back Thurman Thomas will receive a State University of New York (SUNY) honorary degree from Buffalo State University and deliver the keynote address at the 69th Annual Honors Convocation tomorrow, Thursday, April 16, at 12:15 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Rockwell Hall. The campus community is invited to attend.
The honorary doctorate degree is the highest form of recognition offered by SUNY to persons of exceptional distinction. Its purpose is to recognize those whose lives and significant achievements are widely known and highly regarded.
Honors Convocation, sponsored by the Academic Affairs Office, recognizes the exceptional academic performance of students who have earned a 3.50 or higher cumulative grade point average after completing the requisite number of credit hours at Buffalo State. Each spring since 1958, the Honors Convocation has celebrated academic excellence, bringing together honored students, their families and friends, and faculty and staff members who encourage and inspire students to achieve this important level of recognition.
