All members of the campus and the wider community are invited to the annual Arbor Day lecture on Friday, April 25, at 3:00 p.m. in Technology Building 160. This year’s guest speaker is Nellie Gardner. She will be discussing the history of the trees and gardens at the Richardson Olmsted Campus, which is adjacent to the Buffalo State University campus. Gardner has many years of experience as a horticulturist, agronomist, flower grower, and landscape designer. She has played a key role in the restoration of the Richardson Olmsted landscape.
Everyone attending the lecture will receive a beautiful Arbor Day poster created by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation in celebration of Arbor Day 2025. This program is sponsored by the Buffalo State Grant Allocation Committee (GAC) and the Friends of the Maud Gordon Holmes Arboretum. For more information, please contact Steve Sypniewski.
