Arboretum Lecture: Rebuilding Buffalo's South Park Arboretum - April 16

The Campus Planning Office and the Friends of the Maud Gordon Holmes Arboretum invite the Buffalo State University community to a fascinating talk of the past, present, and future of the South Park Arboretum, a jewel of the Olmsted parks system, on Tuesday, April 16, at 6:00 p.m. in the LoRusso Alumni and Vistor Center’s Costello Hall. Margaret Lapp, director and curator of the South Park Arboretum for the Olmsted Parks Conservancy, will discuss the unique challenges of the short- and long-term plans of restoring the South Park Arboretum back to its former glory. She will discuss how the restoration of the arboretum will bring back Frederick Law Olmsted's vision of this great park. In recent years, the South Park Arboretum, under Ms. Lapp’s leadership, has done incredible work to become an accredited ArbNet arboretum.

This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

Please contact Steven Sypniewski, campus arborist, for more information. RSVPs recommended but not required.
