Campus Community

Buffalo State Bike Day

Posted:

Buffalo State Bike Day will take place on April 23 in the Student Union Plaza from 12:00-1:30 p.m. This event provides the campus community with an outlet to explore cycling, alternate transportation, and sustainability.

This event will take a multi-prong approach to encourage safe cycling and help participants to view bike riding as a viable, fun and safe form of transportation and recreation. This event will include a Bike Rodeo/Learn to Ride (11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) for students (registration required) to learn and practice basic riding skills and on-road safety in the safety of a corralled area in the Plaza; a Mobile Bike Repair to assist the campus community with small repairs and prepare their bikes for the upcoming riding season; a Spin Art Bike Activity where participants create an artwork by pedaling the art bike provided by GOBike; and Tabling with On/Off Campus Bike and Sustainability Groups. If your group would like to table, let us know. USG will provide food and games for students.

You can register here Bike Day Registration or scan the QR code on the flyers around campus. Please advertise this event to your students and let us know if you are free to volunteer on the day of the event. This event is funded by Faculty-Student Association, the Grant Allocation Committee, United Students Government, the Anthropology Department and the Anthropology Society.
