Free Paint Recycling Event on Campus: April 18
Buffalo State University, in partnership with Erie County and GreenSheen Paint, is proud to host a community paint recycling event on Saturday, April 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Lot R-14. This initiative offers a convenient, no-cost solution for residents to responsibly dispose of leftover architectural coatings while supporting our commitment to environmental stewardship.
To ensure a high-capacity, efficient flow for all participants, please review the following guidelines:
Accepted Items (Containers Five Gallons or Smaller):
- Interior and exterior architectural paints (latex, acrylic, water-based, oil-based, enamel)
- Deck coatings and floor paints
- Primers, sealers, and undercoats
- Stains, shellacs, lacquers, and varnishes
- Waterproofing sealers (non-tar based)
Items Not Accepted:
- Aerosol products (spray cans)
- Paint thinners, mineral spirits, or solvents
- Auto, marine, or industrial maintenance coatings
- Containers that are leaking, empty, or missing original manufacturer labels
