Parking Updates and Reminders
Parking Services would like to share several important updates and reminders regarding parking enforcement and recent changes to campus parking facilities.
Citation Amnesty Period
As a courtesy, an amnesty period for unpaid parking citations will be offered through May 1, 2026. Upon request from the registered owner, late fees will be forgiven once the initial fine(s) are paid. Individuals may review and pay their accounts at Parking Services Payment Portal or by contacting Parking Services (parkingservices@buffalostate.edu) directly. To apply for the late fees to be waived, faculty and staff must complete the Citation form and request the late fees to be waived. Initial fines must be paid prior to the request.
Parking Reminders
As a reminder, all vehicles parked on campus must display a valid permit and comply with posted signage. Parking enforcement will be conducted in accordance with established campus parking regulations. Delinquent fines imposed upon officers or employees of state-operated campuses of the State University of New York, and not paid after 30 days from issuance, may be deducted from the salary and wages of the offending employee(s).
Structural Improvements
Structural improvements to the R-12 and R-13 parking lots were completed during the fall semester, and parking designations were adjusted between R-12 and R-13. Individuals are encouraged to review posted signage and updated parking maps (Campus Map) to ensure they are parked in the correct areas. Additional work is ongoing near the Power Plant and parking operations in that area may continue to be impacted as construction progresses. We appreciate your patience while this work is completed.
Guest Parking
Parking Services offers temporary guest parking permits for departments hosting guest lecturers, presenters, speakers, and other short-term visitors to campus. Departments are encouraged to coordinate guest parking needs in advance by submitting a Temporary Permit request form to ensure appropriate accommodations are available.
Thank you for your cooperation and attention to these updates. If you have questions regarding parking regulations, lot designations, guest permits, or enforcement, please contact Parking Services at parkingservices@buffalostate.edu or visit our website for the most current information.
