Ramadan 2026: Message from MSA Faculty Advisor
Dear campus faculty members, staff, and administrators,
We are in the first week of Ramadan, and I extend my greetings to all, especially to our Muslim colleagues and students—Ramadan Mubarak! As the faculty advisor to the Muslim Student Association (MSA), I remind everyone to extend special grace to your Muslim students during this month. Fasting starts a little before daybreak (around 6:00 a.m. these days) and continues all the way to sunset (approximately 6:00 p.m. these days); students go without food or water during this time. Please talk to your students and kindly become familiarized with individual situations or concerns. Kindly also remind students that food packets are available in the cafeteria for the early morning meal prior to start of fast.
Ramadan ends March 19, with Eid on March 20.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me at ahmedsm@buffalostate.edu.
And, once again, prayers for a peaceful and blessed Ramadan!
