Central Intelligence Agency on Campus April 4 and 5

Recruiters from the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) will be on campus Thursday, April 4, and Friday, April 5, to meet with department chairs, present to classes, and host two sessions open to all students, faculty, and staff members:

CIA Information Session
April 4
12:15–1:30 p.m.
Bulger Communication Center 217
This session will cover the agency's mission and how it is organized. Attendees will learn about the agency's application process and student internship programs.

Why People Spy
April 4
4:30–6:00 p.m.
Bulger Communication Center 217
A presentation rich in audience participation that combines real-life examples of espionage, a fair amount of social science, and multiple opportunities for audience contributions to understand what motivates "spies" to operate across cultures and around the world. The presentation also debunks the popular culture and movie image of what "spies" really are and how they operate. Finally, it describes the kinds of careers within the agency’s Directorate of Operations and the skills and experiences they look for in those interested in pursuing this unique profession. CIA officials and recruiters will be on hand to answer questions and discuss intelligence careers with interested students.

Students who attend one of these sessions can sign up for individual one-on-one meetings on April 5.

This event is co-sponsored by the Career and Professional Education Center; the Political Science, Public Administration, and Planning Department; the Criminal Justice Department; the Student Political Society; and the Criminal Justice Club.
