Program Revision:
Spanish Advantage (a revision of the World Language Advantage Certificate)
The Spanish Advantage (SPL) Certificate is a five-course program that develops Spanish proficiency targeting ACTFL Intermediate-level skills. It enhances global citizenship and workplace competence, enabling communication about daily life and interactions with native speakers. Note that ACTFL certification is not included with the certificate upon completion.

Advanced laboratory investigation of protein structure and function utilizing a recombinant gene to protein workflow. Features the expression, purification, and characterization of a model protein. Technical focus includes chromatography (affinity and ion-exchange), and analytical validation via SDS-PAGE and Western Blotting. Emphasis on bioinformatics, enzyme kinetics, and professional scientific communication.
MAT 111 Introduction to Data Analysis and Statistical Reasoning
Prerequisite: Three years of high school mathematics.
Offered every Fall.
Introduction to descriptive statistics and the foundations of probability. Summarize and visualize data; measures of center and variability; analyze sampling distributions; Draw valid and meaningful inferences and conclusions from data. Emphasis on conceptual understanding, real-world data, and quantitative reasoning.
