Exercise Science Certificate
The proposed exercise science certificate provides students with the foundational knowledge and skills to pursue careers in personal training, corporate fitness, and graduate studies in applied exercise physiology. Students earning this certificate are encouraged to obtain highly recognized exercise science certifications. Completing the Certificate in Exercise Science prepares individuals for entry-level employment as service providers in fitness facilities.

PHI 111 Ethics for Scientists
Prerequisite: None.
Offered every Fall.
Introduction to ethical issues in the sciences. Health-care ethics, research ethics, bioethics. Ethical theories and ethical implications of scientific discoveries. May include selected topics in applied ethics, e.g., personhood, environmental ethics.
PHI 112 Professional Ethics
Prerequisite: None.
Offered every Fall.
Introduction to professional ethics. Fundamental concepts in professional ethics and their application to contemporary ethical issues. Professionalism, integrity, ethical leadership. Ethics of specific professions such as law, education, business.
PSC 225 Politics of Diversity and Justice
Prerequisite: None.
Offered every Spring.
Introduction to the politics of diversity and justice. Fundamental concepts in the study of power, privilege, oppression, and opportunities offered via political and legal structures and societal systems along with an exploration of rights, access, equity, and participation in the pursuit of justice.
