The following has been received in the College Senate Office and forwarded to the Curriculum Committee for review:
New Course:
EXE 638 Collaboration and Social Skills. Prerequisites: EXE 100 and EXE 500 or equivalent. Foundational knowledge and skills for teacher candidates related to the needs of students with disabilities and those at risk; the educational systems in which these students are served; and the teaching approaches most effective for meeting their academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Presentation and discussion of the foundations of educational collaboration and instructional and inter/intrapersonal practices for students with disabilities in various settings. Models and methods for working within team contexts, and strategies and skills for co-teaching, consultation, communication, collaboration, and working with families and caregivers. Offered every semester.
