Advanced to the Curriculum Committee
The following have been received in the College Senate Office and forwarded to the Curriculum Committee for fall 2024 review:

New Courses:
CIS 451 Data Structures and Algorithms. Prerequisite: CIS 251. Fundamental concepts such as data organization, storage, and data search and retrieval concepts in software development. Exploration of various data structures, algorithms, and corresponding methodologies of design, implementation, and analysis. Hands-on programming exercises provide students with skills in problem-solving techniques and algorithmic thinking. Offered occasionally.

CIS 472 Networking Laboratory II. Prerequisites: CIS 410 and CIS 470. Hands-on experience in designing, installing, testing, and troubleshooting various network hardware components at the physical layer of the OSI model, including transmission media (cabling), control devices, and communication services. Examination of fundamental building blocks, network designs and considerations, testing procedures and tools, and emerging technologies. Offered occasionally.

Course Revisions:
CIS 361 Advanced Programming (formerly CIS 361 Fundamental Concepts in Object-Oriented Programming). Prerequisite: CIS 151. Programming concepts in the C++ (or related) programming language. Exploration of special attributes of C++ including strong typing, multiple file object-oriented design, direct memory access, pointers, and linked lists. Design and implementation of hands-on application programs. Offered occasionally.

CIS 427 E-Commerce Systems (formerly CIS 427 E-Commerce Systems and Technologies). Prerequisites: CIS 370 and CIS 375. Investigation of the components and processes involved in conducting e-commerce, including Internet services, software technologies, business models, and management practices associated with e-commerce. Examination of the planning, design, development, and support of complex e-commerce applications. Offered occasionally.

FTT 488 Internship/Field Experience. Prerequisites: FTT 350, FTT 359, FTT 365, and instructor permission.
Students gain real-world experience through fashion internships, applying fashion knowledge in guided and supervised field experiences with businesses, nonprofits, or industry-relevant organizations; networking with industry professionals; developing practical skills; enhancing career prospects; and fostering personal and professional growth. Offered every semester.
