Course Revision:
BXE 682 Field Experience in Bilingual General and Special Education. Prerequisite: Undergraduate or graduate standing; bilingual exceptional education major; program coordinator permission. Graduate field placement comprising college-supervised field experience providing bilingual education to English language learners/multilingual learners (ELLs/MLLs) with and without disabilities as appropriate to the teaching certificate. Application of theories and practices in bilingual general and special education. Offered every semester.

Course Revision with General Education 2023 Designation:
DIVERSITY: EQUITY, INCLUSION, AND SOCIAL JUSTICE
SWK 301 Poverty and Economic Justice (formerly SWK 301 Poverty and Public Policy). Prerequisite: Sophomore standing. Focus on historical and current social welfare policies; theories of poverty causation; demographics of those affected by poverty: race, age, gender, immigration status, socioeconomic status; prevention, intervention, and advocacy efforts to address poverty and promote economic justice. Requires participation in the Student Research and Creativity Conference. Offered spring semester.
