Educational Opportunity Program Honors Convocation and Celebration: May 9

The Arthur O. Eve Educational Opportunity Program will celebrate the exemplary academic performance of its students during the annual EOP Honors Convocation on Thursday, May 9, at 3:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Rockwell Hall. This year’s theme is “Our Stories” Believe, Inspire, Achieve. Program highlights include the recognition of student achievements and of distinguished alumnus Carlos Muhammad, who is the associate director of the Maryland Educational Opportunity Center. Mr. Muhammad graduated in 1996 with a bachelor of science in economics and completed his master of science in multidisciplinary studies in 2003.

This year’s EOP Honors Convocation will be dedicated to William Ortega, retired senior EOP counselor, who recently passed away. The EOP Honors Convocation recognizes students who have obtained a 3.0 semester or cumulative GPA during the 2023 calendar year. Special awards are also given to faculty, staff, and outstanding students who have provided valuable contributions to EOP. The campus community is invited to attend the ceremony. RSVP to Cathy McCoy, office assistant, by Wednesday, May 8.
