FITT Academy Presentations: 'Hybrid Learning' and 'Course Redesign' - April 10

Please join us for the next two presentations of the FITT Spring Symposium on Tuesday, April 10, from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. in Technology Building 160.

Jill M. Gradwell, professor of history and social studies education, will discuss her project, "Help! Hybrid Education Learning Potential." P–12 teachers are using more online methods of instruction in today’s schools; therefore, teacher educators must model effective methods. This project explored the blended/hybrid instructional modality and researched best practices while redesigning the course plan (syllabus) from a traditional to a hybrid course.

Lynn Boorady, chair and professor of fashion and textile technology, will discuss her project, "Updating an Introductory Computer-Aided Design Class," which assisted in identifying OER materials for FTT faculty to use in their courses and located materials for use in the Introduction to Fashion Technology class, specifically resources for Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe CS.

The FITT Spring Symposium, a signature event of the Fostering Innovation in Teaching with Technology (FITT) Academy, is a series of final presentations given by the academy's group of faculty participants throughout the month of April.

All presentations are open to faculty, staff, students, and guests.
